Rusty fabric
Yet another 2 weeks of soaking the fabric with rusty objects.
I don't think we are there yet. !
I will add a bit more vinegar to help speed it up as it has probably been diluted with all the rain. However, there is lots of rusty water I wonder wether you could paint with it ........ Try it !

Kaffe Fassett
Kaffe Fassett came to the York guild to give a talk and promote his autobiography. He gave a very interesting talk and inspired us to all go away and look at the world in a more colourful way and to use it freely in our work.

Exhibition looming and some sad goodbyes
It's all systems go for the exhibition next week end, Tempo Radio are lined up to visit us on Saturday morning
and the Mayor of Harrogate is kindly coming to the preview to join us on Friday evening.
The boards and tables have been secured and the bunting made. the wine is ordered and nibbles purchased !
The students are frantically completing their stitched items. It will be sad to say goodbye to Stevie, Liz, Sue and Cathy who have worked so hard over the last 4 years to complete their City and Guilds embroidery and are so very much part of Castle Textile Group, who were with us during the change when we had to pull out of Harrogate College, like so many groups across the country, after being there for over 20years.
Spofforth is now our home and the villagers have been very welcoming and will be kindly flying the flag for us over the memorial hall to celebrate our exhibition.

Quilters guild AGM
Diane and myself went to Dundee and had a lovely and very informative weekend at the quilters guild AGM. They had some really interesting speakers such as Janice Gunner and Sheena Norquay to name just a couple. I was astounded to see that people had come as far as Australia and America for the AGM . I really annoyed it and will go to Nottingham next year.
