Knitting and Crochet Guild
'WOOLSACK'

Do you fancy making a cushion out of British wool for the athletes at the Olympics?

WOOLSACK is all about British wool, the importance of wool in England's history while recognising what wool has to offer the UK today. They will be sharing this with the athletes by making personal gifts for them that are beautiful, functional and are a little bit of Britain to take home with them.

Find out how you can get involved:

How to sun print

A summer project that you may like to try over the holidays

1 Take a piece of dupion silk fabric and lay it on some plastic to protect the work surface.
2 Paint the fabric using pebeo setasilk. ( silk paint )
3 Now take your fabric and lay it in the bright sunshine, place some keys or other objects that have a clear outline immediately on top of the fabric.
4 Wait for the fabric to dry in the sun.
5 Remove the keys to reveal the shapes of the keys created on the fabric.
6 Now you are ready to embellish your 'background' fabric with stitch
